History reference: Kalinkin - the first brewery in Russia

The brewery near Kalinkin Bridge was founded by Noah Cazalet at the end of the 18th century. In 1848, his descendant Pyotr Cazalet, who owned this plant, merged his capital with F. A. Kron, naming the firm "Cazalet, Kron and Co." In 1862, on the basis of the plant of William Clement Cazaleta, the Kalinkin brewing and mead brewing partnership was formed on shares. Since 1886, the Kalinkin Association became the owner of the Vena plant. According to the results of the Nizhny Novgorod exhibition in 1896, it was awarded the right to depict the state emblem. On December 25, 1912, the title of the Supplier of the Court of His Imperial Majesty and the right to use the image of the coat of arms on signboards was confirmed to the Kalinkinsky Brewery Association. Closed in 1918
