Pharmacodynamics
Wormwood bitter herb (Artemisiae absinthii herba)
Wormwood herb contains bitterness (absintin), essential oils, sesquiterpene lactones, flavonoids, tannins.
Enhances the secretion of gastric juice, increases appetite, improves digestion. It has choleretic properties.
Indications
To stimulate appetite, improve digestion and as a choleretic for diseases of the liver and gallbladder.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the drug. Increased gastric secretion, hyperacid gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute stage, reflux esophagitis, acute cholecystitis, pregnancy, lactation, childhood (up to 12 years).
Method of administration and dosage
Crushed raw materials. About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of crushed herbs are placed in enameled dishes, 200 ml (1 cup) of boiling water is poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes, then cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed out.
The volume of the resulting infusion is brought to 200ml with boiled water.
The infusion is taken orally in a warm form by ? a glass 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.
It is recommended to shake the infusion before use.
Side effects
Allergic reactions, heartburn, gastralgia, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting (with prolonged use).
Overdose
Symptoms: tremor, headache, dizziness, hallucinations, convulsions.
Treatment: symptomatic.
