Saint Andrew is known as the first-called because he became Jesus' first apostle. When Christ's apostles spread around the world to preach, Andrew primarily taught in Greece, among other lands, when he finally met his end in Patra, Greece. Saint Andrew was crucified on a cross made in the shape of an “X”.
