This stretchy infant car seat cover and car seat canopy is absolutely adorable and a must-have for any new mom.

Our pattern for an infant car seat cover is made from stretchy material and designed to fit over any standard infant seat on the market.

These covers are extremely popular because they provide some protection for baby from the elements, block out some light and noise (making it easier for baby to nap on the go), and protect new babies from curious looky-loos :).

Not only that, but this cover is also multi-functional (4-in-1 cover). Pulled off of the car seat, you can use it as a full-coverage nursing cover (slip your head through the top and pull the sides and bottom around you and baby), a shopping cart seat cover, or a high-chair cover.

You have several options for completing this project, you may do the entire thing on a sewing machine (using a stretch stitch or zig-zag stitch), you may do the entire thing on a serger (using a rolled hem edge), a combination of both, or use a coverstitch to hem the edges.


🖤Estimated Time: 20-30min (this one is always quicker than you'd think!)

🖤Material: we recommend knit fabric with a 4-way stretch and good recovery (we provide links to our favorite fabric within the instructions). You will need 1 yard of material (if it is at least 58" wide (148cm).
