Sohei or pilgrim costume set

Sohei or battle monks were mighty warriors of Sengoku period in japanese history. Their image is pretty popular in folk culture, so even ninjas used their image as a disguise. Now you can try it on yourself! Actually their outfit is typical for pilgrims - special robe and comfortable short hakama trousers are the best for long walk. Just add some weapons and peaceful buddha servant turns into dangerous fighter.

Please note - no headdress or footwear are included, just add to the basket any you want as separate order.

The default material is cotton with a weight of 240g (8.5oz) for outer clothing and lighter one for juban.

If you have some specific wishes about sizing of your costume just contact us or leave a comment to the order with your actual measurement and we'll make in a proper size.

Please note - we make every single pair in a custom way so we'll need some time (usually from a couple of weeks to month) to sew your personal sohei costume.
