Super warm knitted V vest

Handmade unisex super warm knitted V vest from high quality icelandic yarn Álafoss Lopi, 100% sheep wool. A further striking characteristic of the Icelandic sheep is its natural colors: black, grey and brown as well as the usual white. Hand knit clothes form Alafoss Lopi are cozy and lightweight. Álafosslopi is a chunky weight yarn made from 4 made of four strands of unspun lopi slightly twisted together by machine. Garments and accessories knitted with it are very warm and suitable mainly for outdoors use rather than indoors. I was inspired by this incredible yarn and knitted a classic vest for cold weather suitable both for men and women. Black inserts are knitted from Air Wool addicts yarn (86% merino extrafine and 16% polyamid).

Measurements of the vest:

17 1/2” (or 45 cm) across chest, 13” (or 33 cm) from underarm to bottom hem, 22” (or 56 cm) from shoulder to bottom hem. All measurements shown are taken laid flat!

Size:

This hat will fit most adults’ heads up to 23” (or 58 cm) around; it measures 8 1/2” (or 21,5 cm) long (cuffed) and 8 1/2” (or 21,5 cm) across cuff (un-stretched).

Care:

Wool is an incredible fiber that has naturally occurring antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, which means that it needs washing much less than other fibers. Air out your woolen between wears, and store with an herbal sachet or in a cedar box, and you’ll find that you rarely, if ever, need to give it a full washing.

When you do need to wash, hand washing in cool water is recommended. Use a no-rinse wool wash, and do not agitate while washing. Squeeze water out (don’t wring it!), then roll in a towel to remove excess water, gently reshape, and lay flat to dry.
