The story of the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt and forty years of wandering in the desert occupies one of the central places in the Sacred History of the Old Testament. This book is about how the story of the Exodus was read by the holy fathers and church writers of the first centuries of the existence of the Christian Church. The meanings they revealed in it formed the basis of the modern tradition of interpreting the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament. And the prototypes they saw in concrete events and historical figures from the time of the Exodus from Egypt raise this episode of the history of the chosen people to a dizzying height, pointing directly to the incarnation of the Son of God and the advent of the New Testament. The name of Moses, the greatest prophet who fulfilled this grandiose mission entrusted to him by the Lord, is fanned in their creations with an aura of special holiness.
The book was published on the basis of a master's thesis defended by the author at the Moscow Theological Academy in 2013.
