History reference: Soviet volleyball began to develop rapidly, first in the border areas, then in the Middle Volga, the Far East, Moscow, Ukraine, Transcaucasia. Already in 1922, the first rules of volleyball competitions were translated at the Main Military School of Physical Education. Representatives of the Dynamo sports society created in 1923 were actively involved in volleyball. Volleyball of that time was jokingly called the "game of actors" in the country. Indeed, in Moscow, the first volleyball courts appeared in the courtyards of theaters - Meyerhold, Kamerny, Revolution, Vakhtangov.
