Hati (from the Old Norse "hater") chases the moon every night, trying to devour it.
Skoll (from the Old Norse "traitor"), Hati's brother, every day tries to catch up with the chariot of Arvak and Alsvid, who are carrying the sun across the sky.
On the day of Rognarok, both wolves will fulfill their destiny and devour the Sun and the Moon.
