2003 model year. Nakamichi's first CD receiver for MP3 / WMA compatible cars is a reference model that follows the company's philosophy of perfect sound.
"We did exactly what we needed to do to improve MP3 decoding sound without compromise," Nakamichi engineers said of the new model. It was judged to produce sound that is not very different from other premium car audio systems such as the CD700.
The CD-500 is a 1DIN CD receiver with a built-in amplifier. The CD player section, the preamp section, the power amplifier section and the FM/AM tuner section provide the cabinet and amplifier ± ground inputs, respectively. An independent connection system for the balanced amplifiers is adopted. This prevents interference in each other's circuits and noise generation by housing the equipment in a small enclosure.
The DAC supports 24-bit/96 kHz. The CD drive also supports reading MP3/WMA files recorded on CD-R/RW, and the read music data is converted to linear PCM. It is converted to 24-bit / 96 kHz DAC via S /PDIF, similar to a music CD.
The LCD display and key backlighting can be selected in yellow, blue, green, red, etc. colors for each part, 9 types in all, from which you can choose your options.
