Farewell Prayer

On the left on the sheet is printed the prayer of permission, on the right is a stripe-crown, which must be cut off with scissors and placed on the deceased's forehead.

The priest, having read a permissive prayer written on a sheet above the coffin, inscribes the name of the deceased and his own into it, then puts the folded sheet into the dead man’s right hand. In a permissive prayer written in a letter, the priest in the name of God forgives his dead spiritual son (daughter) for all sins for which the deceased during his life was bound by penance or which he did not manage to confess due to oblivion or other excusable reasons. Prayers of the spiritual father have great power before the throne of God.

The prayer is written in the Old Slavonic language.
