Holy Father Nicholas - the patron of children, jewelers, travelers, pawn brokers and Russia. His feastday is celebrated on December 6/19th. This traditional icon has a Russian shaded enamel frame which has its origins in Byzantium. Saint Nicholas has miraculously answered Christians' prayers for centuries. Born toward the end of the third century, Saint Nicholas was elected the Archbishop of Myra upon the death of his uncle, the archbishop.
