Safe dreadlocks are from kanekalon (high-quality synthitic fiber), which externally imitate dreadlocks made of natural hair. They can be of any length and thickness. They are of two types: Double Ended and Single Ended These names are usually abbreviated to the DE and SE DE dreadlocks give double volume, SE Dreadlocks leaves the natural volume of hair.

DE and SE dreads are usable for 1,5-2 months. Basically, it depends on how fast your natural hair growth. The dreads are unbraided painlessly and can be used more than one time. Your hair will be fine.

You can wash them! Make a foam (mix some shampoo with water), and wash just your scalp. You don't need to worry too much about washing the dreads themselves, because they are made of synthetic fiber and don't really attract oil and dust. If they get a little funky smelling, you can put some essential oils in them.  Wispy ends like a natural hair need some care. If you don’t like how they start looking like, just fix it with hair straightening iron (through a wet cloth) and/or brush carefully
