SUGER - is it the new enemy
Is Sugar Truly a Threat to Your Health?
It’s no secret that governments all over the world are starting to crack down on sugar. They are imposing taxes on sugary drinks and snacks, banning them from schools, and more treatment programs are being offered to people who believe they are addicted to sugar. But what is the truth?
Is sugar the new enemy? Think about the different types of sugar. Coca leaves were used for centuries in their natural state for chewing or tea preparation without issues. However, once highly processed, they turned into the dangerous and addictive drug known as cocaine.
The innocent poppy flower faced a similar fate. Once a safe and effective tea for relaxation and pain relief, it became a powerful, dangerous, and addictive opiate after super-processing.
Sugar starts out as sugar cane—a healthy stalk plant. In its natural form, you can’t consume enough to make you sick. But once super-concentrated and processed, it becomes like a drug. In fact, lab rats preferred sugar over cocaine as their drug of choice.
It’s crucial to understand that there are various types of sugar. Some are natural, while others are so processed that, despite their natural origins, they can no longer be considered natural.
