"Model of the Universe" Handmade night light lamp

The lamp is made on the basis of one of the five Platonic solids - a Dodecahedron.
A dodecahedron is a regular polyhedron having 12 faces in the form of regular pentagons.

Plato once asserted the special role of the dodecahedron in the universe. He believed that the four "main elements" — fire, air, water and earth, from which everything material in the universe is built —correspond to four polyhedra of perfect symmetry: tetrahedron, octahedron, icosahedron and cube. And the fifth completely symmetrical polyhedron, this very dodecahedron, "corresponds", according to Plato, to the so-called quintessence, or essence of heaven.
According to Plato, this shape (dodecahedron) was used as a sample when creating a universe with a perfect sphere shape.

Further, in the Pythagorean school, the idea is known, according to which the dodecahedron formed beams on which the vault of heaven was erected.

Anyway, in philosophical and esoteric teachings, the dodecahedron is an honorary participant. But even without the versions listed above, it can nevertheless be successfully used as a practical and original accessory and a bright accent in the interior, inevitably attracting attention.

The frame of the figure is made of elm, and fluorescent braided cords with a diameter of 0.5 mm are stretched inside. The rack is made of aluminum profile for diode tape and pine slats. At the base of the rack is a weighty and stable plywood platform, inside which voids are milled and electronic components are hidden. All wooden elements have the effect of antiquity and scuffing. The base cover is glued from below with a soft and slip-resistant material, which has a beneficial effect on the stability of the structure

It can be used as an independent lamp, night light or light decor. The glow modes are widely adjustable: from the selected static color of adjustable brightness (convenient for a night light), you can switch to light shimmers that adjust to a contemplative mood or rhythmic color change, and even strobe mode for lighting accompaniment of a home party.

The modes are switched and adjusted using the remote control and do not require contact with the product. You can also turn on the UV backlight separately so that the fluorescent filaments inside the polyhedron begin to glow brightly.
The dodecahedron is freely suspended on a rack and begins to rotate from the slightest movement of air, drawing attention to the constantly changing angles and the play of chiaroscuro. (see video)
