Artful Finesse 2 - Open Blossom Square

This pretty flower, framed in a neutral background square, is a great project for yarn scraps. Stitch multiple squares together to make blankets, bags, scarves, cowls, and shawls. Use just the flower as an applique for hats, scarves, curtains, gloves, tops, skirts, bags, wall décor, and pillows. The instructions below are for just the flower applique.

Size of Square. 6” x 6” (15 cm x 15 cm)

Size of Flower with Leaves. 5.25” (13.3 cm) diameter

Skill Level. Intermediate.

Techniques used in this pattern. Chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, treble crochet, front post single crochet, standing stitches, needle join (aka invisible join).

Tools. G/6 (4.25 mm) hook, yarn needle, and scissors.
