Dolly Alderton - Good Material
There is so much to love about this tale-as-old-as-time breakup story: it’s kicky and comical, honest and oh-so-familiar. With bighearted and rompy humor, Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) proves that she just might be this generation's Nora Ephron—and the quest for love that once transpired over the radio (in Sleepless in Seattle) and AOL chat rooms (in You've Got Mail) has made its way to present day online dating sites and texting. Rest assured, there is still old school romance—or the hope of it, anyway—and there's even an interlude with a houseboat, as Andy tries to put his life back together after his breakup with Jen. The thing is, he's thirty-five (not quite an “elderly flasher in the park” but rather "in the youth of middle age”), so wild nights out are few and far between. But like all of us, Andy puts one foot in front of the other trying to wade his way toward love once more. Comforting, entertaining, and a delight to read...now, we're just waiting for the movie. —Al Woodworth, Amazon Editor
