About this item

This icon is a high-resolution print on hardboard, embellished with light-reflecting silver and gold foil.

The creator of the image is supposedly the first Russian icon painting Alipy Pechersky, who lived around the 7th century. This assumption alone makes the icon invaluable for the entire Orthodox world. There are speculations that this work is kept in the Assumption Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin under the name "The Queen is Appearing", but no one has yet been able to prove this. It is believed that the icon located in the cathedral combines two prototypes: the icons of the King of Glory and the Great Bishop

Blessed at Saviour Cathedral in Moscow.
