Knitted coat for dolls and toys pattern, coat with a hood, doll clothes pattern, teddy bear clothes, doll wardrobe, DIY
According to this pattern, you can knit a coat for your toys or dolls.
Knitting pattern presents 2 variants - a coat of a more strict style and a coat with a hood.
Using the basic pattern you can knit a vest.
ATTENTION!
In the process of knitting, I recommend that you definitely try on a coat for a character.
Even if you hit my knitting density as accurately as possible, different types of yarn give different results! In addition, each character has his own “figure”, the pattern needs to be corrected with increases if your character is pot-bellied.
Materials and tools:
- Yarn and knitting needles.
You can use any yarn without a pronounced texture and hairiness, the color is at your discretion.
For example, I worked with yarn with a high content of wool in several threads, but the pile on it is soft and small.
The diameter of the needles that I used in my work is 3 mm. Most of the work is done in flat rows (back-and-forth), the sleeves are worked in the round.
I advise you to do the main part of the work (it is done using flat rows) using knitting needles with a cable - this way it will be easier for you to try on during the work. The sleeves are made without a seam - it takes up too much space inside, and for small characters this can be critical. They can be knitted with knitting needles with a cable (Magic Loop method), and a set of double-pointed knitting needles.
Knitting needles and yarn are selected in such a way that the fabric is of medium density, elastic enough. You can start from the recommendations on the packaging with yarn, knit a sample and, if necessary, add an additional thin thread or take knitting needles of a smaller diameter (usually the recommended diameter indicated on the packages is too big).
2. A needle with an eye through which the working thread passes to hide the tails of the threads and sew the details.
- For the fastening of the coat, I use 4 small buttons (you can use two, but 4 looks more interesting). You can also sew on 3 pairs of buttons.
The buttons in my version perform only a decorative function, the coat is fastened with small sewn-on snaps (snaps can only be sewn on one edge of the button band or under each button - for a coat with a hood it is better to sew under each button). The diameter of the buttons and snaps should look harmonious in relation to the size of the coat. If you do not have small buttons, you can replace them with other decorative elements, for example, pick up interesting flat beads.
The half-belt on the coat can also be decorated with two buttons.
Additionally, you can add decor details and design elements to your taste.
