Hati and Skoll are huge wolves, wargs, the sons of Fenrir, Hati (from the Old Norse Hati - "hater") every night pursues the moon, trying to devour it. Skoll (from the Old Norse Skoll - "traitor"), Hati's brother, every day tries to catch up with the chariot of Arvak and Alsvid, who are carrying the sun across the sky.
