The cross is made in Mount Athos in Greece. The crucifixion is a copy of a modern Greek icon painted in the classical Byzantine tradition, using the effect of artificial aging. The image is applied to a wooden base, aging is imitated by cracks and patina. The halo and background are hand-gilded with potala, and some details on the icon are also hand-painted.
