Sometimes you have an idea that you can't get out of your head for years. The initial seed of this novel was the title that, over time, became The Frugal Magician's Guide to Surviving in Medieval England. At first there was no story to go with that title, but I wrote it down and kept coming back to it, wondering what the book could be about. Another thing I'd been thinking about from time to time for years was the classic concept of someone waking up in a different time and place, with no idea how they got there. The moment those two ideas came together and I placed a book with that title in that person's hands was when this novel was born. I hope you have as much fun with it as I did!
