The Haunting of Moscow House By Olesya Salnikova Gilmore

In post-revolutionary Moscow, two aristocratic sisters, Irina and Lili Goliteva, grapple with their new reality as Bolsheviks seize their once-grand ancestral home. It’s the summer of 1921, and the sisters are relegated to the attic of their deteriorating mansion while the officials occupy the luxurious rooms below. Stripped of their noble status, Irina and Lili must adapt to their diminished circumstances in Soviet Russia, but the house seems unwilling to let go of its traumatic past.

Desperate to escape their haunted home and the unwelcome new occupants, the sisters secure jobs with the American Relief Administration (ARA), which offers them both employment and a reprieve from their grim situation. For Irina, it’s a chance to help those in need, while Lili finds an outlet for her artistic talents. The ARA also provides an opportunity for new beginnings, including potential romance.

However, as the spirits of their deceased family members awaken, they reveal dark truths about the house’s past during the Revolution. The unsettling whispers grow louder when one of the Bolshevik officials is found dead, leading to suspicions of supernatural involvement or human malice. With danger closing in, Irina and Lili must uncover the chilling secrets hidden within Moscow House.
