ABOUT AUTHOR:
Alexander Fedorovich Muzyka was a Ukrainian painter and a distinguished artist of Ukraine since 1992. He was born in 1921 in Khmelnytskyi Oblast and passed away in 2001 in Kyiv. In 1954, he graduated from Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, where he studied under the guidance of J. Bokshai. Muzyka was a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Muzyka’s works are characterized by a unique style that combines elements of impressionism and expressionism. He was particularly interested in landscapes and still life paintings, which he often depicted in bright and vivid colors. His paintings are known for their dynamic brushwork and bold use of color, which create a sense of movement and energy.
Throughout his career, Muzyka participated in numerous exhibitions both in Ukraine and abroad. His works can be found in many private collections and museums, including the National Art Museum of Ukraine and the Lviv Art Gallery.
DEPICTED IN THE PORTRAIT:
Georgiy Gordeevich Golubev was a Soviet military aviator and a Hero of the Soviet Union. He was born on April 7, 1919, in the village of Zhgutovo, which is now located in Krasnoyarsk Krai. He passed away on April 12, 2005, in Kyiv at the age of 86.
Golubev began his aviation career in 1939 when he was sent to the Kherson Flying School. However, there were no vacancies, so he was redirected to the Ulyanovsk School of Pilots of the Osoaviakhim, where he was enrolled. After completing his studies, he was sent as a flight instructor to a newly organized aviation school in Tsnores-Tkhali.
Golubev was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union since 1943. He was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for his courage and bravery in the war. His name is inscribed on the memorial to the Heroes of the Soviet Union in Moscow.
