VINTAGE OIL PAINTING ON CANVAS

AUTHOR: Soviet Ukraine artist Alexander Pavlovich Kiselev.
TITLE: "Portrait of a Soviet Red Army senior sergeant Nikolai Plusnin". This painting was painted in 1983.
MATERIALS: oil, canvas
MEASURES: 100 cm H x 66 cm W (39.4 x 25.9 inch)
CONDITION: good vintage condition.

ABOUT AUTHOR:

Alexander Pavlovich Kiselev was a Ukrainian painter, father of Yuri Kiselev. He was a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
He graduated from the Baku Art School (1949) and the Kiev Art Institute (1955). His teachers were M. Ivanov and O. Shovkunenko.
He worked in the field of easel painting. He created portraits, landscapes, and genre paintings in a realistic style. He participated in city,
regional, all-Ukrainian, and foreign art exhibitions since 1957. He had a personal exhibition in Khmelnytskyi (1965). Some of his works are
preserved in Khmelnytskyi, Zaporizhia, Rivne, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr regional museums.

His works include: “Wife” (1955), “Female Portrait”, “Moon-Star”, “Y. Horbanchuk” (all - 1960), “Flowers” (1961), “In Exile” (1963), “Karmalyuk” (1964),
“Frozen River” (1965), “Hut”, “Self-Portrait” (both - 1967), “Near the River” (1970s), “Surgeons” (1972), “O. Shovkunenko” (1973); series “Still Lifes” (1980-1989);
dioramas - “Liberation of Kamianets-Podilskyi” (1974-75), “Liberation of Novoushytsia” (1977; both - Khmelnytskyi region). He died on August 8, 1989.
