AMORPHA SHRUB / AMORPHA FRUTICOSA L.
the name comes from the Greek. "Amorphos" - "shapeless", which is due to the atypical structure of the flowers. It is a perennial ornamental shrub that reaches a height of 1.5-2 meters. Belongs to the Legumes family.
An ornamental shrub with a wide crown, about 2.5 m high. Fast-growing, sun-loving shrub with wide openwork leaves of bright green color. The flowers of the shrub amorph are small, fragrant, purple or dark cherry with bright golden stamens, collected in dense spike-shaped inflorescences. Located at the ends of the shoots and directed upwards.
Amorph belongs to the legume family, and legumes are known to enrich the soil with nitrogen. Another very useful property of amorphous is that it has a powerful and deep root system, as a result of which it is recommended for fixing steep slopes of gullies and ravines. It is valued as a very ornamental shrub, widely used in landscaping parks, forest parks, creating hedges and group plantings.
Excellent pollen and good honey plants. Bees actively visit flowers throughout the day to collect pollen and nectar. During its flowering, there is a hum from bees on the plantations. The abundance of nectar in its flowers is indicative of the behavior of collector bees.
Sitting on inflorescences, they fill the honey goitres with nectar so much that they hardly return to the hives. Among the collecting bees, about half were with a bright orange rim. Judging by the number of bees returning to the hives with amorphous pollen, in the initial period of flowering, it undoubtedly dominates among other honey plants and pollen plants in terms of attendance.
Honey productivity 150-250 kg / ha. Blooms in late May - early June.
