artist's hand (art sconce)
Quantity
This installation is made from antique objects: brass silver-plated spoon and ladle, an antique frame bought at an antique shop and antique art brushes. Even the screws are from an antique German piano. I got the idea while visiting an art gallery in Nizhny Novgorod. At that moment I needed to quickly find a piece of paper and a pencil to draw the project and not forget about it later.
I received the brushes as a gift from an artist I know, who kindly presented them to me as a bouquet of flowers.
The essence of the idea is the artist's hand through which he transmits his energy into his creations. I know for a fact that I myself transmit my energy mostly through my hands. That's why this artist's palm is designed as a lamp with warm light. The surface of the reflector is deliberately cleaned of silver to reflect the warm light of the brass. The frame is over 100 years old and may have previously held someone's portrait or photograph. The frame beautifully emphasizes both the strength and fragility of the artist's hand. The installation is dedicated to all people in the creative professions who bring their positive energy into the world.
