The finished gnome is 9 cm (3,5 inches)
The toy is knitted in a circle on three knitting needles. The head and upper legs are sewn on.
Main material:
To create the gnome you will need:
Yarn:
* For body Alize Cashmira shade 72 beige (300 m/ 100 g)
Alize Lanagold 800 shade 29 (2 strands).
* For dress Alize Lanagold 800 shade 55. (2 strands).
* For hat Alize Lanagold 800 shade 36. (2 strands).
Knitting needles size 1.5 mm - 5 pcs (if you use yarn other than indicated above, choose the needles size
appropriate for your yarn).
Crochet hook size 1 mm
White yarn to decorate eyes (I used Alize Cashmira shade 55)
Strong thread in black for sculpting and sewing eyes.
Beads size 2 mm for eyes – 2 pcs.
Needle for sewing pieces.
Pins for securing pieces.
Stuffing material.
Comfortable scissors.
Tweezers to help stuffing the toy.
Chalk pastel for tinting.
Work Skills:
Sel – selvedge stitch, which you should slip st beginning of a row (follow the main pattern)
K st- knit stitch. Work through front strand.
P st – purl stitch.
Y.o.- yarn over, which you should work through back strand (making one away) and front strand (making one
toward). Such technique will help you avoid holes in the fabric.
Inc – increase to one stitch of the prev. rnd
Dec - decrease
