Use WD-40 or olive oil to stop the blade from rusting, according to the care recommendations.
Apply a thin layer of oil on the blade, preferably olive oil.
Whether it's made of Damascus steel or another material, oiling the blade will give it a rich lustre appearance.
Avoid keeping the instrument in its leather sheath for more than a month. Due to the absorbent nature of leather, it will result in blade discoloration. • If storing in a leather sheath, it is advised to first wrap the blade with lamination sheet.
