On May 26, 1539, on the day of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, in the Tver diocese, at the Vyryshensk settlement, located among the dense forest on the bank of the Vyryshni River in Okovetsky parish, near the town of Rzhev, Monk Stefan, with the confluence of people from four surrounding villages, found: a large iron cross nailed to a pine tree and on another tree - a small, an old letter, an icon depicting the Mother of God with a Baby and with the upcoming Saint Nicholas of Myra, the Wonderworker. At the appearance of the holy cross and the icon, an unusual light shone and healings were performed. During the week from the Spirit of the day to the prayer before the Peter Fast, 27 healings were performed.
