Table Medal In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of virgin and fallow lands 1954-1979 LMD 1979 #1183

The history of commemorative medals

In honor of the heroism of landers, in commemoration of the 25th anniversary since the beginning of development of virgin and fallow lands Board established a commemorative medal. The medal is made of colored metal in the shape of a circle with a diameter of 60 millimeters. On its obverse is depicted: the harvester in grain field on the horizon—Elevator transformed the steppe crosses the power line. Around the circumference of the coin the inscription ("In commemoration of the 25th anniversary since the beginning of development of virgin and fallow lands" and date "1954-1979".

On the flip side of the coin depicts the Emblem of the USSR. These words of comrade L. I. Brezhnev: "the Development of virgin and fallow lands is one of the brightest pages in the annals of creative labor of the Soviet people". A commemorative medal will be awarded to the party, Soviet, trade Union and Komsomol bodies of the republics, territories, regions, cities and districts, the state and collective farms, collectives of industrial enterprises made the greatest contribution to the development of new lands.
