Sanctions Policy
Inspire Uplift offers a direct link between buyers and sellers across the globe. When you use the Services of Inspire Uplift, you are responsible for complying with this policy, irrespective of your location.
This policy is a part of our Terms of Use.By using any of our Services, you agree with this policy and everything mentioned in our Terms of Use.
Being a global company located in the US and operating in many other countries, Inspire Uplift has to abide by the economic sanctions and trade restrictions, including the ones set by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) of the US Department of Treasury. This means that Inspire Uplift or anyone using our Services can’t become involved in transactional activities with the people, places, and items that belong to those places, as mentioned by agencies like OFAC
This policy applies to anyone using our Services from anywhere in the world. Get yourself known to these restrictions well.
Examples of a few transactional restrictions that are prohibited are:
- Certain locations like Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, and Crimea, or any person or any entity living or operating from these areas;
- Individuals or entities that are present on Sanctions lists such as OFAC’s Specially Designated Nationals (“SDN”) List or Foreign Sanctions Evaders (“FSE”) List;
- Nationals of Cuba, irrespective of their location, unless they have citizenship or permanent residency outside of Cuba;
- Products originating from places including Cuba, North Korea, Iran, or Crimea with the exception of informational materials such as publications, films, posters, phonograph records, photographs, tapes, compact disks, and certain artworks.
To protect the marketplace, Inspire Uplift takes measures to ensure compliance with sanctions policies. For example, Inspire Uplift prohibits using accounts of Inspire Uplift in specific locations. If we believe that you are using your account from a restricted location mentioned above or are in any way violating the economic sanctions or trade restrictions, we may terminate or suspend your account or the usage of any of our Services. Members are not allowed to list, purchase or sell products that come from sanctioned areas. Items that pre-date sanctions are also not allowed because there is no certain way of verifying when they were removed from restricted locations. Inspire Uplift has the right to ask for more information about any item like country of origin in a listing or any step to comply with the rules. We also have the right to disable any listing or cancel a transaction that threatens the policy in any way.
Along with knowing the local laws and complying with the OFAC, Inspire Uplift members must also be aware of international laws. You should know the trade restrictions set by other countries, and there may be products which they do not allow to trade in any way. When a transaction involves International parties, consider the international laws.
Inspire Uplift members must also know the involvement of third-party payment processors like PayPal,HyperWallet in the transactions. These third parties monitor transactions to ensure compliance with their policies and can block any transaction if they believe is violating their policy. Inspire Uplift has no authority over the decisions made by these independent payment processors.
