So, I wrote a book.

For years, I toyed with the idea—sometimes even entertaining questionable shortcuts (“It’s easy! Just do some interviews, have someone else write it, slap your face on the cover, and boom!”). But in the end, I chose to tell these stories the only way I know how—my way.

Writing this has been as exhilarating as hearing a song come to life in the studio, rediscovering an old journal entry, or even shouting along to my favorite records as a kid. It’s not a retirement announcement, but it is a chance to pull back the curtain on my journey—from a kid in Springfield, Virginia, to playing with Scream, Nirvana, and the Foo Fighters, from jamming with Iggy Pop to drumming for Tom Petty, from meeting Paul McCartney at Royal Albert Hall to dancing with AC/DC, and even flying halfway across the world for one unforgettable night with my daughters.
