All Our Products Are Handmade And Unique

All of our damascus is real and isn't just an acid etch, which is how it's made. Damascus is a mixture of nickel carbon (NiC) 15n20 and 1095HC. You heat them both at the same time and fold the bar repeatedly to get the desired number of layers—ours have 384 layers. When you burn the blade in acid, the high carbon turns blackish grey and the nickel turns satin. This is how the layers of the newly created steel known as "Damascus" are revealed.

Damascus is acid etched throughout to reveal the layers. The metal will be shiny and satin like all steels if you high polish it. The layers of the two steels are only visible once acid has been burned into the blade's sides. Which is true? After we manufacture our knives, we give the handles a high polish and sharpen the blades. The handle's acid-burned layer is buff off during high polishing, and the blade's edge is sharpened and turns satin.

After each use, the product's care/tipsblade should be cleaned and oiled.
