Crochet Leaf Pattern ,Crochet Tropical Leaf Instructions ,DIY Autumn Leaves Pattern
Here’s an option when you don’t have time to make a big gift but want to give something hand-knit. This leaf will add an extra touch to a wrapped gift or make a nice key chain accent.
Consider using 1 size larger needles due to the M1Rs and M1Ls; the stitches get a little tight there. This is the perfect pattern to try some new skills as very little yarn and time are at risk here! The leaf is 1.5 inches wide and 2.5 inches long without stem at gauge but you can make any size leaf. It takes me about 40 minutes to knit a leaf.
Skills needed: cast on, knit, purl, kf&b, M1L, M1R, p1tbl, k2tog, k3tog, p2tog, p3tog, right and left cables and I-cord for stem.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
6 yards of Aunt Lydia’s Classic #10 crochet thread will make a leaf in the stated gauge.
Colors “Myrtle Green” and “Frosty Green” were used.
