Crochet pattern: watermelon backpack suitable for both dolls and adults (or kids)
Hello there!
I'd like to introduce my crochet pattern for a small watermelon backpack designed for a 12-inch tall doll.
=)
Please note that by using this pattern, you can also create a larger adult (OR KIDS) backpack (10 inches in height) for yourself or as a gift, using T-shirt yarn and an 8 mm (L) crochet hook. It's a versatile crochet pattern!
For the tiny backpack, which measures approximately 7 cm (2.5 inches) in height, you will need the following materials:
1. Cotton yarn:
- Yardage: 185 yards (169 meters)
- Unit weight: 50 grams (1.76 ounces)
- You will need 4 balls each of green, white, pink, and black colored yarn.
2. Crochet hook: 5 steel (1.75mm)
3. One metal latch (optional, for a metal lock)
4. Needle and scissors
You can make it for a doll or as a keychain.
For the adult rucksack, which is a pretty bag suitable for anyone, you will need:
1. Cotton T-shirt yarn:
- Weight: Super bulky (5-6 wpi)
- Yardage: 60 yards (55 meters)
- You will need 4 balls each of green, white, pink, and black colored yarn.
2. Crochet hook: 5 steel (1.75mm)
3. One metal latch (optional, for a metal lock)
4. Needle and scissors

There are two PDF files available for this pattern, using both U.S. and U.K. crochet terminology. Each file consists of four pages
If you are familiar with single crochet stitches and increasing, you can easily crochet a big backpack or a tiny doll bag within a day!
