Elephant Granny Square Crochet Pattern

This elephant granny square is approximately 20 cm x 20 cm (8.15" x 8.15"), and can be used as a component for crocheted items such as a blanket or cushion cover. The square can be used repeatedly, or with others. This is the fourth of my 'South African animal' granny squares, so keep your eyes open for more designs coming soon ;-)

It can also be framed framed and hung on a wall, as home décor - ideal in a nursery, or a child's bedroom.

The pattern (written in US terms) calls for DK yarn in five colours (grey and olive green, and very small amounts of dark grey, very dark brown, and white), and a 4.00 mm crochet hook is used throughout. In total, the approximate yardage is 61 m (67 yds).

The only additional materials required are a darning needle, with which to weave in the ends, and a very small amount of teddy filling, with which to stuff the 'bulge' of the elephant's trunk.
