This traditional fixed blade knife has been scrimshawed by hand the old fashioned way with a pointed metal scribe, filled with concentrated India ink and finished with wax and mineral oil. The blade itself has been shined with buffing compound properly sharpened. I also used extra wax to finish the leather sheath to enrich the color and enhance durability.
No electronic/pneumatic equipment was used in any way. None of my works are laser engraved or printed. They are entirely scrimmed by hand in the traditional manner.
This is a Skinner pattern knife with an overall length of 7 3/16”. The blade measures 3 5/8”. The bone scales are bovine(cow) bone and the blade is hollow ground 400 series stainless steel, which I have personally ground to a very sharp edge. It has excellent balance, contouring and jimping and is very comfortable in the hand.
