The Romanov Royal Family
In 2000, the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his family were canonized by the Russian Church in the face of holy passion-bearers. Their canonization in the West - in the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad - took place even earlier, in 1981. The first icons of the royal family appeared long before the act of canonization, it is known that already in the twenties of the last century there was a tradition of special commemoration of the innocently murdered Tsar Nicholas II at divine services. Prayer in front of the icon helps to maintain mutual respect between generations and close relations between relatives, to raise children in piety, loyalty to Orthodox principles and patriotism.
