The story of the creation our WOODINS workshop began in 2014 from the moment its mastermind carried away the fascinating art of Marquetry - creating images using the technique of wooden mosaics. The workshop creation was preceded by several years of studying the basic aspects and capabilities of the marquetry and the creation of the first few dozen works. Decorative art of wooden mosaics is extremely painstaking and time-consuming, which leads to exorbitant cost of products. Gradually, the workshop acquired the necessary equipment, new technologies were mastered. This allowed a minimum of 5 times to reduce the cost of finished products. A number of the most complex and long processes are now done by the master using programs and modern mechanisms. However, up to 90% of manual labor is present in each workshop product.

Our products are made by hand using the medieval technique of Marquetry. The panel is assembled from more than 500 wooden plates of various shapes and colors. Marquetry is an artistic set of thin wooden plates (veneer) of different colors and textures. Pieces of wood, joining each other at the edges, form a complete picture, which is subsequently glued to the base. The role of paints in marquetry is played by the texture and shade of the wood, so the most important task is to determine the composition and the artist’s artistic ability to select and combine the right veneer fragments. In the marketer's workshop there are hundreds of different types of veneer, from black to almost white, and the same wood can have different shades in different areas. A job measuring 40x60 cm can take 2-3 weeks of work by a craftsman. The process of performing work is quite complex and includes many related operations.
