Rainbow Baby Blanket and Beanies Crochet Pattern Bundle
These two written crochet patterns (in US terms) provide instructions to make a rainbow shell stitch baby blanket (approximately 90 cm x 125 cm), and three different designs of rainbow baby beanies (1. White Beanie with Rainbow Hearts, 2. Rainbow Beanie with White Heart, and 3. Rainbow Beanie with Earflaps) in both ‘newborn’ size and ‘baby’ size (please note: sizes are only a guide; individual head size may vary).
Having had close family and friends who have been devastated by the loss of an unborn child (and always having had a love of rainbows, myself), these crochet items were designed and made with love, deep sensitivity, and a desire to bless and give hope to those grieving.
The items work up quickly, and make perfect gifts for any baby - boy or girl (and extra special for a rainbow baby). The blanket is large enough to also be used as a toddler blanket, or a lap blanket for an adult. Although the blanket design is relatively simple, the border design is one which creates mini shells, using an interesting combination of different stitches.
Both patterns call for a 4.00 mm crochet hook, and white DK yarn, as well as seven different yarns (also DK) in rainbow colours.
The only additional material required is a darning needle, with which to weave in the ends.
(If you have quite a tight crochet tension, I would suggest using a hook that is .5 mm larger, in order to obtain a similar gauge.)
