HISTORICAL REFERENCE:
Swedish field artillery, as a branch of the army, was created during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) by the great military reformer, King Gustav II Adolf. Following the Dutch model, he introduced the unification of the calibers of the guns.
Also, Gustav II Adolf created regimental artillery, which was supposed to operate in the combat formations of the infantry.
The reforms have yielded excellent results.
Already at the Battle of Breitenfeld (1631), the field artillery of the Swedes was one of the most important factors that ensured the victory of Gustav II Adolf. Swedish guns were of excellent workmanship, especially cast iron and iron.
