Rainbow Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern
This written crochet pattern (in US terms) provides instructions to make a rainbow shell stitch baby blanket, approximately 90 cm x 125 cm.
The blanket works up quickly, and makes makes the perfect gift for any baby, boy or girl (and extra special for a rainbow baby). It is large enough to also be used as a lap blanket for an adult.
Although the blanket design is relatively simple, the border design is one which creates mini shells using an interesting combination of different stitches.
The pattern calls for white, as well as seven different yarn colours, to create a rainbow effect (a shade of dusty pink, pale orange, pale yellow, mint green, turquoise, pale blue, and lilac).
The white part of the blanket uses approximately 4 skeins of DK yarn (each 100 g) to complete. However, only one skein (either 50 g or 100 g) of each colour DK yarn is needed.
The only additional materials required are a 4.00 mm crochet hook, and a darning needle with which to weave in the ends.
