Panda Lovey (Security Blanket) and Panda Rattle Crochet Patterns Bundle
These two written crochet patterns (in US terms) provide instructions to make a panda lovey (or security blanket), and a panda rattle. The items work up easily and quickly, and the finished products make adorable gifts for a new baby!
The lovey (granny square) is approximately 35 cm in length and width, and the panda head and arms (amigurumi) is approximately 10 cm in height. The handle of the rattle is about 11 cm long, and is easy for little hands to grasp. A large bell inside the head (with two smaller bells placed inside) makes a jingle noise when the rattle is shaken. A loop for the tail is a nice 'feely' detail for babies to hold and play with.
Have fun mixing the items up, by adding arms to the rattle, and/or placing bells inside the head of the lovey.
The patterns call for black and white DK yarn, as well as seven different yarn colours (also DK), to create a rainbow effect: a shade of dusty pink, pale orange, pale yellow, mint green, turquoise, pale blue, and lilac. A 4.00 mm crochet hook is needed for the lovey (with the recommendation to use a 3.50 mm hook for the panda head and arms if stitches are too loose), and a 3.50 mm hook for the rattle.
Gauge is not important for either pattern.
