Holy Martyr Uar | Handmade Russian icon | Size: 2,5" x 3,5"

November 1 is the memorial day of the early Christian martyr Uar and with him seven Christian teachers. According to the hagiography, Uar was a warrior, the head of a Roman detachment in Egypt at the beginning of the IV century, belonged to the number of secret Christians. Having openly confessed his faith, Uar was martyred and died of torture around 307.
